Elliott was an All-Rookie selection in 1989-90 and an All-Star in 1993.
In October 1993, he was traded with David Wood and a first-round pick in 1996 to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Morris, a second-round selection in 1994 and a 1996 first-rounder.
Less than a year later, Elliott was back with San Antonio, re-acquired from the Pistons in exchange for Bill Curley and a second-round pick in 1997.
In his second stint, Elliott was an All-Star again in 1996.
He was also part of the Spurs’ first championship team, averaging eight points, three rebounds and three assists in 36.2 minutes per game, shooting .333/5-for-18/7-for-11 in a five-game victory over the New York Knicks in the 1999 NBA Finals.

In 11 seasons in San Antonio, Elliott averaged 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 33.0 minutes per game, shooting .466/.379/.799.
