Golden State Warriors: 5 Must-See Games In 2016-17 Season
Dec. 25, 2016: Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers
Nothing says happy holidays like a Christmas day matchup between the two teams that have won the last two championships.
Along with that, this will mark the first time the Cavs and Warriors will face each other since Cleveland overcame a 3-1 deficit in the Finals, thus ending the city’s 52-year championship drought.
When these teams met at Quicken Loans arena last season, Curry quipped that he hoped the visiting locker room would still smell a little bit like champagne, per Diamond Leung of The Bay Area News Group. That statement was made in light of the fact that the Warriors closed out the Cavs on their home court en route to winning it all in 2015.
Needless to say, there will be no such comments this time around being that the Cavs beat the Dubs 115-101 in Game 6 of the 2016 Finals at the “Q” before winning the series finale in dramatic fashion, becoming the first team to beat the Warriors three consecutive times during the season.
