Raymond Felton had quarterbacked North Carolina to a national title as a junior, earning All-America honors while averaging nearly 13 points and seven assists a game.

The Charlotte Bobcats, picking fifth in the 2005 NBA Draft, elected to stay close to home with their pick and went with Felton.

He was an All-Rookie choice in 2005-06 as a part-time starter and moved into the lineup full-time in his second season, helping the Bobcats to their first playoff berth in 2009-10.

In July 2010, however, Felton signed a free-agent deal with the New York Knicks.

In five seasons in Charlotte, Felton averaged 13.3 points, 6.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34.9 minutes per game, shooting .410/.327/.782.

In February 2011, Felton was traded to the Denver Nuggets as part of a three-team deal and in June 2011 was involved in another three-team deal that sent him to the Portland Trail Blazers.

In July 2012, he was traded back to the Knicks and in June 2014, Felton was swapped to the Dallas Mavericks.

Last season, Felton played in 80 games–starting 31–for the Mavericks and averaged 9.5 points, 3.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game, shooting .406/.282/.847.

He signed a one-year, $1.5 million free-agent deal with the Los Angeles Clippers on July 25, 2016.
