Dale Davis was a double-double producer in three years as a starter at Clemson, averaging 17.9 points and 12.1 rebounds per game as a senior.

The Indiana Pacers took the rugged big man with the 13th overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft and he brought his physical style to Indy for the better part of a decade.

Davis was an All-Star with the Pacers in 2000, finishing third in the NBA in field-goal percentage in 1992-93 and placing fifth in 1994-95.

He started at power forward and center during, helping the club to the 2000 NBA Finals. He started all six games of the loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 8.7 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 29.5 minutes per game on .575/—/6-for-11 shooting.

In August 2000, Davis was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jermaine O’Neal and Joe Kleine.

On the waiver wire in March 2005, Davis made a return to the Pacers, signing as a free agent for the remainder of the 2004-05 campaign.

In August 2005, he signed as a free agent with the Detroit Pistons.

In parts of 10 seasons in Indiana, Davis averaged 9.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 29.5 minutes per game, shooting .543/0-for-3/.531.

He remained with the Blazers until July 2004, when he was traded to the Golden State Warriors.

In February 2005, Davis was traded to the New Orleans Hornets, who waived him a week later.

He played out his two-year deal in Detroit and retired after the 2006-07 season.

Davis is 49th in NBA history with 1,270 blocked shots and 38th with a field-goal percentage of .530.
