Vaught was a solid contributor as a reserve during his first few years with the Clippers before landing a full-time starting job during the 1993-94 season.

But a back injury limited him to just 10 games in 1997-98 and he would never again play a full season.

Vaught left after the NBA lockout in January 1999 to sign with the Detroit Pistons.

In eight seasons in Los Angeles, Vaught averaged 11.9 points and 8.0 rebounds in 28.1 minutes per game, shooting .511/.256/.718.

Vaught was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in October 2000 and was dealt to the Washington Wizards in February 2001, retiring after his contract was bought out in November of that year.
