Three Players Average More Than 20 Points Per Game

The last time three teammates averaged 20 or more points per game in a season was during the 2007-08 campaign. That’s about to change this year with the help of the Cavaliers’ Big 3–James, Irving and Love.

Realistically, they weren’t that far off last season. James averaged 25.3, Irving averaged 19.6 and Love averaged 16. However, with the aging James likely to sit more minutes this year, it’s going to fall on the Cavaliers’ other stars to pick up the slack.

Obviously both Irving and Love are capable of providing that type of production. Irving’s career average is 20.8, with a career-high of 22.5 points per game in 2011-12. Although Love’s career average is only 18.3, he broke the 26-point mark twice during his time with the Timberwolves.

Regardless, I think this will be the year this Cavaliers squad finally gels as one of the league’s most talented starting fives. Love is ready to pay Cleveland back for their patience and commitment, and Irving should unleash the show-stopping abilities he displayed during the 2016 NBA Finals.

There have only been 16 instances of this happening in NBA history. The Cavaliers are about to make it 17.
