6. Dwyane Wade, Chicago Bulls

School: Marquette Golden Eagles (Conference USA)
Position: Shooting Guard
Age: 34 (1/17/1982)
2015-16 Slash Line: .456/.159/.793
2015-16 Season Averages: 30.5 MPG, 19.0 PPG, 4.6 APG, 4.1 RPG, 1.1 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Accolades: Finals MVP (2006), 3x NBA Champion, 2x All-NBA First Team, 3x All-NBA Second Team, 3x All-NBA Third Team, 3x All-Defensive Second Team, 12x All-Star, Scoring Title (2009)

When Dwyane Wade took the Marquette Golden Eagles to the Final Four in 2003, the program was still a part of Conference USA. Thus, while Marquette may have since moved up in the world, that was heavily influenced by Wade’s success.

Wade would easily be No. 1 on this list if it were a matter of career achievements, but in the present day, he barely misses the Top 5.

Wade is one of the greatest players of all-time, which can be seen with just one quick glance at his accolades. He won Finals MVP in 2006, has three championship rings, won the 2009 scoring title, and made eight All-NBA teams.

Wade is also a 12-time All-Star who deservedly made the team as recently as the 2015-16 season with the Miami Heat.

Now moving on to his hometown Chicago Bulls, Wade will look to prove he still has something left in the tank. He did that during the 2016 NBA Playoffs, when he led Miami to the second round and averaged 21.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.

Wade’s athleticism isn’t what it used to be, but he’s still one of the best players in the NBA—mid-major program or otherwise.
