Luis Scola had been one of those names on a list for five years before the Houston Rockets acquired the rights to the 2002 second-round pick along with Jackie Butler from the San Antonio Spurs in July 2007 in exchange for Vassilis Spanoulis and a second-round pick in 2009.

Scola was an All-Rookie selection in 2007-08 for the Rockets—at age 27—after being signed from Tau Ceramica in Spain.

The Argentine native was waived in July 2012.

In five seasons in Houston, Scola averaged 14.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.2 minutes per game, shooting .510/1-for-17/.744.

Scola was a second-round pick of the Spurs in the 2002 NBA Draft from Tau Ceramica.

Two days after being waived by the Rockets, he was claimed by the Phoenix Suns and was traded to the Indiana Pacers in July 2013.

Scola signed with the Toronto Raptors in July 2015 and started 76 games for the Raptors in 2015-16, averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game while shooting .450/.404/.726.

He signed a one-year, $5 million free agent deal with the Brooklyn Nets on July 13, 2016.
