The Houston Rockets made a blockbuster trade in June 2004, acquiring All-Star Tracy McGrady along with Juwan Howard, Tyronn Lue and Reece Gaines from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato.

McGrady was a three-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA selection for the Rockets and was fourth in the league in minutes per game in 2004-05.

In parts of six seasons in Houston, McGrady averaged 22.7 points, 5.6 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 36.7 minutes per game, shooting .420/.322/.737.

McGrady was the ninth overall pick out of Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, N.C., by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 NBA Draft before leaving for the Magic in a sign-and-trade deal in August 2000.

He was the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2000-01, a four-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA selection in Orlando, while leading the NBA in scoring in 2002-03 and 2003-04.

McGrady signed as a free agent with the Detroit Pistons in August 2010 and signed with the Atlanta Hawks in December 2011.

After playing much of the 2012-13 season in China, he returned to the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs in April 2013 and retired in August of that year.

He briefly played professional baseball in 2014 in the independent Atlantic League.
