Shawn Marion was a four-time All-Star earlier in his career, but was sent to the Dallas Mavericks as part of a massive, four-team sign-and-trade deal in July 2009 by the Toronto Raptors.

In the deal, the Mavericks got Marion, Kris Humphries and Nathan Jawai from the Raptors, with Dallas also acquiring Greg Buckner from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for sending Jerry Stackhouse and cash to Memphis, cash to the Orlando Magic and Devean George and Antoine Wright to the Raptors.

Marion played fewer minutes and spent much of the 2010-11 season coming off the bench, but he was still an important cog for the Dallas team that won the title at the end of that season.

Starting all six games in the series against the Miami Heat, Marion averaged 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 35.8 minutes per game, shooting .479/0-for-1/14-for-17.

Marion became a free agent after the 2013-14 season, eventually signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers in September 2014.

In five seasons in Dallas, he averaged 11.6 points, 7.0rebounds and 1.0 steals in 30.4 minutes per game, shooting .496/.307/.774.

Marion spent his junior season at UNLV after transferring from a JUCO, averaging 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game before declaring for the pros.

The Phoenix Suns took Marion with the ninth overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft.

With the Suns, Marion was a second team All-Rookie pick in 1999-2000. Later, he was named All-NBA twice and was selected for four All-Star bids.

An undersized 4 in Phoenix’s fast-paced system, he was third in the NBA in rebounding in both 2004-05 and 2005-06, while placing second in steals in 2003-04, third in 2002-03, fourth in 2004-05 and fifth in 2005-06.

The durable Marion also finished in the top five in minutes per game twice while with the Suns.

He was traded in February 2008 to Miami. In February 2009, Marion was dealt to Toronto.

Marion announced his retirement in June 2015 after the Cavaliers lost in the NBA Finals. He did not play in the six-game series.

Marion is 45th in NBA history with 1,163 games, 31st with 40,097 minutes played, 36th with 10,101 rebounds and 18th with 1,759 steals.
