Hakim Warrick was a two-time All-American who had also claimed a national championship, finishing his career at Syracuse by averaging 21.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game as a senior.

The Memphis Grizzlies drafted the power forward with the 19th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft and after he played sparingly as a rookie, Warrick grabbed a spot in the rotation at power forward–both starting and coming off the bench–for the remainder of his time in Memphis.

He played out his rookie deal and signed a one-year, $3 million offer sheet as a restricted free agent with the

Milwaukee Bucks

in July 2009. The Grizzlies chose not to match the deal.

In four seasons in Memphis, Warrick averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game, shooting .500/.228/.725 and starting 82 of his 307 games with the club.

Warrick was traded to the Chicago Bulls in February 2010 and went to the Phoenix Suns in a sign-and-trade deal that July.

In July 2012, Warrick was on the move again, traded to the New Orleans Hornets in a three-team deal that also involved the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He wasn’t long for New Orleans, which dealt him to the Charlotte Bobcats in November 2012. In February 2013, he was on the move again, traded to the Orlando Magic.

The Magic waived Warrick two days after the trade and he hasn’t played in the NBA since, playing in China, Turkey, Australia and Greece. He finished the 2015-16 season with Olympiakos and is currently unsigned for 2016-17.
