After a sophomore season during which he averaged 11 points a game, it was a surprise when Villanova’s Kyle Lowry declared for the NBA Draft. The Memphis Grizzlies found him still on the board when they picked at No. 24 in the 2006 NBA Draft.
His rookie season was a wash when he broke his left wrist 10 games in and missed the remainder of the season, but he came along nicely in his second season while backing up rookie Mike Conley at the point guard spot.

In parts of three seasons with Memphis, Lowry averaged 8.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 23.7 minutes per game, shooting .424/.258/.739.
He was a part-time starter for the Rockets until July 2012, when he was traded to the Toronto Raptors.
It was in Toronto that Lowry’s career took off. He is a two-time All-Star since going to the Raptors, earning All-NBA honors in 2015-16, when he was fifth in the league in three-pointers, second in minutes per game and fourth in steals.
In all, he averaged 21.2 points, 6.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 37.0 minutes per game last season, shooting .427/.388/.811 and leading Toronto to the conference finals for the first time.
He re-signed with the Raptors as a free agent in July 2014, agreeing to a four-year, $48 million deal that runs through 2017-18, which is a player option.
