25 Best International Players Of All Time
21. Marc Gasol, Spain
Marc Gasol makes the list at No. 21. He hopefully still has many years of NBA basketball left in front of him. From a basketball point of view, I hope that he recovers from his broken foot suffered last season to come back just as strong as before the injury.
Gasol is so critical to the success of the Memphis Grizzlies that in light of the Tim Duncan retirement. With Gasol healthy, the Grizzlies may end up with their first division title.
Gasol is a good, solid player, he averages 14.3 points per game over his eight-year career, which is dependable, not spectacular.
Gasol also averages 7.8 rebounds per game over his career, which is again solid. Where Gasol stands out is his all-around game. His 3.1 assists per game is superb for a center.
Gasol also averages 0.9 steals per game as well as 1.5 blocks per night. With Gasol you know what you are going to get each night.
Some of Gasol’s honors include being a two-time All Star and a member of the 2008-09 All-Rookie second team.
