P.J. Brown was an original member of the New Orleans Hornets, moving with the team from Charlotte in 2002 after being acquired in a trade with the Miami Heat in August 2000.
He was fourth in the NBA in field-goal percentage in 2002-03.

In four seasons in New Orleans and Oklahoma City, Brown averaged 10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 33.5 minutes per game, shooting .477/0-for-4/.847.
Brown was a second-round pick out of Louisiana Tech by the New Jersey Nets in the 1992 NBA Draft and played a season in Greece before signing with the Nets in July 1993.
He signed with Miami in July 1996 and was a two-time All-Defensive selection for the Heat.
With the Hornets in Charlotte, he was an All-Defensive pick in 2000-01.
Unsigned in July 2007, Brown waited until February 2008 to sign with the Boston Celtics and earned a championship ring before retiring at season’s end.
