
The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets were looking for some outside scoring when they acquired former All-Star Peja Stojakovic from the Indiana Pacers in July 2006 in exchange for the rights to 1998 second-round pick Andrew Betts.
Sidelined with a bad back for much of his first season with the club, Stojakovic put together a terrific season when the Hornets returned to New Orleans in 2007, leading the NBA in free-throw shooting while finishing second in 3-pointers and fourth in 3-point shooting.

In parts of five seasons in Oklahoma City and New Orleans, Stojakovic averaged 14.3 points, four rebounds and 1.3 assists in 33.2 minutes per game, shooting .418/.404/.899.
He was the 14th overall pick from PAOK in Greece by the Sacramento Kings in the 1996 NBA Draft and the Croatian signed with the Kings in June 1998.
He was a three-time All-Star in Sacramento and an All-NBA selection in 2003-04, when he led the league in 3-pointers and free-throw shooting.
He was traded to the Pacers in January 2006.
In January 2011, Stojakovic was waived by Toronto and signed four days later by the Dallas Mavericks, where he was part of their championship squad before retiring in December 2011.
Hired in August 2015 as the Kings’ director of player personnel, he is 13th in NBA history with 1,760 3-pointers, 35th with a 3-point percentage of .401 and fifth with a free-throw percentage of .895.
