Ray Allen was a two-time All-American at Connecticut, averaging more than 23 points and six rebounds per game as a junior and the Milwaukee Bucks worked a draft night deal in June 1996 to get the fifth overall pick and a first-round selection in 1998 from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the rights to No. 4 overall pick Stephon Marbury.

Allen was an All-Rookie selection in 1996-97 and was a three-time All-Star for the Bucks, earning All-NBA honors in 2000-01.

He led the NBA in 3-pointers in 2001-02 and was second in 1999-2000 and 2000-01, while finishing third in free-throw shooting in 1997-98, fourth in 1998-99 and fifth in 1999-2000.

In February 2003, Allen was traded with Ronald Murray, Kevin Ollie and a first-round pick in 2003 to the Seattle SuperSonics in exchange for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason.

In parts of seven seasons in Milwaukee, Allen averaged 19.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 36.3 minutes per game, shooting .450/.406/.879.

Allen was a four-time All-Star with the SuperSonics, earning All-NBA honors in 2004-05, and led the NBA in 3-pointers in 2002-03 and 2005-06.

In June 2007, he was traded to the Boston Celtics, where he was a three-time All-Star and helped win an NBA title in 2008.

He signed as a free agent with the Miami Heat in July 2012 and was part of another title team in 2013.

Unsigned since the summer of 2014, Allen has yet to announce his retirement.

He is the NBA’s all-time leader with 2,973 3-pointers, is 19th in league history with 1,300 games, 14th with 46,344 minutes played, 47th with 1,451 steals, 22nd with 24,505 points, 37th with a 3-point percentage of .400 and seventh with a free-throw percentage of .894.
