Keith Hornsby

  • Age: 24
  • Height: 6’4″
  • College: LSU

Keith Hornsby missed the last six games of the 2015-16 season due to injury, but his shooting skills are the reason why the Mavs decided to give him a contract.

Ben Simmons was obviously the player of interest at LSU last season, but Hornsby gave the Tigers a boost in a different area on the court as he managed to shoot 42 percent from three.

Hornsby could be described as a catch and shoot player as he likes to live behind the three-point line and throw up shots as soon as he touches the ball.

Despite an awkward follow through, he was able to have tons of success shooting and it’s one of the reasons why he averaged 13.1 points per game in 2015-16, which was the next highest average behind Simmons.

He did miss time at the beginning and end of the season, but Hornsby still had great nights like his 32-point outing in his first game of the season and his 25-point game against Mississippi State.

The Mavs are stacked at shooting guard with Wesley Matthews, Justin Anderson, Seth Curry and occasionally Devin Harris, so Hornsby will have to go above and beyond to make the final roster.
