Kenny Anderson played two seasons at Georgia Tech and was an All-American in each of them, averaging almost 26 points, six rebounds and six assists as a sophomore before turning pro. The New Jersey Nets selected Anderson with the second overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft.

He became a starter in his second season and was an All-Star for the Nets in 1994.

Anderson was second in the NBA in assists in 1994-95 and fourth in 1993-94.

In January 1996, he was traded with Gerald Glass to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kendall Gill and Khalid Reeves.

In parts of five seasons in New Jersey, Anderson averaged 15.3 points, 7.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 32.8 minutes per game, shooting .409/.325/.810.

The well-traveled Anderson signed with the Portland Trail Blazers as a free agent in July 1996 and was traded in February 1998 to the Toronto Raptors.

Five days later, he was traded to the Boston Celtics and in July 2002 was dealt to the Seattle SuperSonics.

In February 2003, he was sent back to the Hornets—this time in New Orleans—and in September 2003 signed with the Indiana Pacers.

A free agent in September 2004, Anderson signed with the Atlanta Hawks, who waived him in February 2005. He was claimed by the Los Angeles Clippers four days later, but was waived in March 2005.

Anderson played the 2005-06 season in Lithuania before retiring.
