After an All-American effort as a sophomore at Stanford during which he averaged more than 19 points and eight rebounds per game, Brook Lopez turned pro and was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 10th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.

Lopez was an All-Rookie selection in 2008-09 and an All-Star in 2013 for the Nets, but missed almost all of the 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons because of a broken foot.

, Lopez has averaged 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 assists in 32.5 minutes per game, shooting .511/1-for-17/.792.

Lopez opted out of his contract in June 2015, but re-signed with the Nets in July 2015.

Relatively healthy in 2015-16, Lopez put up 20.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks in 33.7 minutes per game. The minutes average was his highest since 2010-11, before his first foot injury. He shot .511/2-for-14/.787.

He is under contract through 2016-17 and has a player option for 2017-18 as part of the three-year, $63 million deal from July 2015.

Lopez is 33rd in NBA history with an average of 1.7 blocks per game.
