Devin Harris inherited some large shoes at point guard for the New Jersey Nets when he was acquired in a February 2008 trade from the Dallas Mavericks along with Trenton Hassell, Maurice Ager, DeSagana Diop, Keith Van Horn and first-round picks in 2008 and 2010.

That’s because it was Jason Kidd, along with Antoine Wright and Malik Allen, who went the other way in the deal.

In parts of four seasons in New Jersey, Harris averaged 17.7 points, 6.9 assists, three rebounds and 1.3 steals in 34.3 minutes per game, shooting .424/.292/.819.

Harris was the fifth overall pick out of Wisconsin by the Washington Wizards in the 2004 NBA Draft and was traded to the Mavericks on draft night. In July 2012, he was dealt to the Atlanta Hawks.

He returned to Dallas as a free agent in July 2013 and is under contract with the Mavs through 2017-18 as part of a four-year deal he inked in July 2014.
