Denver Nuggets: 25 Best Players To Play For The Nuggets
By Phil Watson
An All-American at Morehead State, Kenneth Faried was chosen by the Denver Nuggets with the 22nd overall selection in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Faried was an All-Rookie selection in 2011-12 and impressed early with his defensive work and rebounding. But he has regressed both statistically and in terms of playing time in each of the last two seasons after being a part of the U.S. national team’s triumph at the FIBA World Cup in 2014.
Last season, Faried averaged 12.5 points and 8.7 rebounds in 25.3 minutes per game, sitting out 15 contests with a variety of ailments, including a sprained ankle, neck stiffness and a sore back. His shooting slash was .558/1-for-2/.613.
In five seasons with the Nuggets, Faried has averaged 12.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in 26.6 minutes per game, shooting .544/2-for-13/.647.
Faried is under contract with the Nuggets through the 2018-19 season under terms of a four-year, $50 million extension he signed in October 2014.
