Chicago Bulls: 25 Best Players To Play For The Bulls
By Phil Watson
The Chicago Bulls agreed to terms with former All-Star Carlos Boozer as a free agent, bringing in the big man in a sign-and-trade with the Utah Jazz in July 2010, also acquiring a second-round pick in 2011 in exchange for Mario Austin.
But Boozer never found his All-Star form with the Bulls, turning out to be a solid performer coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t always trust in late-game situations.
In July 2014, the Bulls used the amnesty provision to waive Boozer and clear the remaining $13.55 million on his contract off their salary cap.
In four seasons in Chicago, Boozer averaged 15.5 points, nine rebounds and two assists in 30.4 minutes per game, shooting .491/0-for-5/.724.
Boozer was a second-round pick out of Duke by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2002 NBA Draft and was an All-Rookie selection in 2002-03.
In July 2004, he signed as a free agent with the Jazz and was a two-time All-Star and an All-NBA selection in 2007-08.
Two days after he was let go by Chicago, he was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Boozer did not play in 2015-16 and is reportedly headed to China for this season.
