Ben Gordon had a solid junior season at Connecticut, averaging more than 18 points and nearly five rebounds and five assists per game while helping the Huskies to a national title. The Chicago Bulls selected Gordon third overall in the 2004 NBA Draft.

Gordon made history as a rookie in 2004-05, becoming the first—and still only—first-year player to be named NBA Sixth Man of the Year and also earned All-Rookie honors for the Bulls.

He was also third in the NBA in free-throw shooting in 2007-08.

In July 2009, he left to sign a free-agent deal with the Detroit Pistons.

In five seasons in Chicago, Gordon averaged 18.5 points, three rebounds and three assists in 31.4 minutes per game, shooting .437/.415/.859.

In June 2012, Gordon was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats, who waived him in March 2014. In July 2014, he signed with the Orlando Magic and was waived in June 2015.

Gordon got a training camp deal with the Golden State Warriors in September 2015, but was waived after appearing in two preseason games. He is 34th in NBA history with a 3-point percentage of .401 and 41st with a free-throw percentage of .857.
