Chicago Bulls: 25 Best Players To Play For The Bulls
By Phil Watson
Joakim Noah was an All-American and a Final Four Most Outstanding Player at Florida, leading the Gators to back-to-back national titles before turning pro after a junior season during which he averaged 12 points and more than eight rebounds per game.
The Chicago Bulls selected Noah with the ninth pick in the 2007 NBA Draft and have come to rely on his versatility and all-around game.
He was the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2013-14, is a two-time All-Star, was an All-NBA pick in 2013-14 and has been named All-Defensive three-times. He finished fourth in the MVP voting in 2013-14.
But 2015-16 was a struggle for Noah, who lost his spot in the starting lineup and was limited to just 29 games before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery.
He averaged 4.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.0 blocks in just 21.9 minutes per game, shooting .383/0-for-1/.489.
In nine seasons in Chicago, Noah averaged 9.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 blocks in 29.5 minutes per game, shooting .490/0-for-14/.711.
He departed the Bulls officially July 8, 2016, when he signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the New York Knicks as a free agent.
