The Chicago Bulls were just launching their rebuild when they signed restricted free agent Brad Miller in September 2000.

Miller won the starting center job and in February 2002 was traded to the Indiana Pacers with Ron Artest (later known as Metta World Peace), Ron Mercer and Kevin Ollie in exchange for Jalen Rose, Travis Best, Norm Richardson and a second-round pick in 2002.

But he came back to the Bulls in September 2009 along with John Salmons from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Drew Gooden, Andres Nocioni, Cedric Simmons and Michael Ruffin.

His second tenure ended when he signed as a free agent with the Houston Rockets in July 2010.

In parts of four seasons in Chicago, Miller averaged 10 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25.8 minutes per game, shooting .446/.279/.784.

He does not appear on any of Chicago’s all-time lists.

Miller was signed by the Charlotte Hornets after the lockout ended in January 1999 after going undrafted out of Purdue the previous June and beginning his professional career in Italy.

He was an All-Star with the Pacers in 2003 before he was traded to Sacramento as part of a three-team deal in July 2003.

An All-Star with the Kings in 2004, Miller was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves in June 2011 and was traded to the New Orleans Hornets in July 2012.

Two weeks later, he was part of a three-team trade that sent him to the Phoenix Suns, who waived him in August 2012.
