Chicago Bulls: 25 Best Players To Play For The Bulls
By Phil Watson
Bob Boozer had played a solid career up to the point the Chicago Bulls chose him from the Los Angeles Lakers in their expansion draft in May 1966.
With the Bulls, he was an All-Star in 1968 before he was traded in September 1969 with Barry Clemens to the Seattle SuperSonics in exchange for Bob Kauffman and a third-round pick in 1971.
In three seasons in Chicago, Boozer averaged 20.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 35.2 minutes per game, shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 78.5 percent at the line.
Boozer was the first overall pick out of Kansas State by the Cincinnati Royals in the 1959 NBA Draft, but delayed his NBA career for a year in order to play in the 1960 Olympics.
In December 1963, he was traded to the New York Knicks in a three-team deal and in October 1965, he was dealt to the Lakers.
Boozer was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in September 1970 and played for their 1971 title team before retiring.
No relation to former Bull Carlos Boozer, who appeared earlier on this list, Bob Boozer died May 19, 2012, from a brain aneurysm at the age of 75.
