Horace Grant put together an All-American senior year at Clemson, averaging 21 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game. The Chicago Bulls were looking for inside help and took the power forward with the 10th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft.

Grant worked his way into a starting role by his second season and was an All-Star in 1994 as well as a two-time All-Defensive selection for the Bulls.

He was third in the NBA in field-goal percentage in 1991-92.

Grant was also part of Chicago’s first three title teams, averaging 14.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 39.6 minutes per game, shooting .627/—/9-for-12 as the Bulls took down the Los Angeles Lakers in five games in the 1991 NBA Finals.

In a six-game triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers in 1992, he averaged 9.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, four assists and 2.3 blocks in 37.8 minutes per game, shooting .561/0-for-1/9-for-17.

In the 1993 NBA Finals, Grant put up 11.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in 38.8 minutes per game, shooting .528/—/11-for-19 in a six-game victory over the Phoenix Suns.

He signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Orlando Magic in September 1994.

In seven seasons in Chicago, Grant averaged 12.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.3 minutes per game, shooting .530/.077/.675.

He was All-Defensive twice with the Magic before he was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics in June 1999.

In September 2000, Grant was part of a four-team trade that sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won a fourth ring in 2001. In July 2001, he returned to Orlando as a free agent and in July 2003, he signed for a second stint with the Lakers, retiring after going unsigned as a free agent in the summer of 2004.

Grant is 44th in NBA history with 1,165 games, 38th with 38,621 minutes played and 44th with 9,443 rebounds.
