By Phil Watson
In a draft night trade in 2004, the Chicago Bulls acquired the rights to seventh overall pick Luol Deng from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the rights to second-round selection Jackson Vroman and a 2005 first-rounder, getting an athletic wing who averaged more than 15 points and seven rebounds as a freshman at Duke.
Deng was an All-Rookie selection in 2004-05 and was a two-time All-Star and an All-Defensive pick in 2011-12 for the Bulls.
He led the NBA in minutes per game in 2011-12 and 2012-13.
In January 2014, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Andrew Bynum, a first-round pick in 2014 and second-round selections in 2015 and 2016.
In parts of 10 seasons in Chicago, Deng averaged 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal in 35.9 minutes per game, shooting .460/.331/.773.
Deng signed as a free agent with the Miami Heat in July 2014 and spent two seasons with the Heat before signing a four-year, $72 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 7, 2016.
