The Utah Jazz picked up former All-Star Jeff Malone from the Washington Bullets as part of a three-team deal in June 1990, sending Bob Hansen, Eric Leckner, a first-round pick in 1990 and two second-round selections in 1990 to the Sacramento Kings.

Malone was second in the NBA in free-throw shooting in 1990-91 and fifth in 1991-92.

and a second-round selection in 1995.

In parts of four seasons in Utah, Malone averaged 18.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 34.4 minutes per game, shooting .502/.242/.881.

Malone was the 10th overall pick out of Mississippi State by the Bullets in the 1983 NBA Draft, earning All-Rookie honors in 1983-84 as well as two All-Star selections.

Waived by Philadelphia in January 1996, he joined the Miami Heat the following month on two 10-day contracts before earning a deal for the rest of the year.

Released in July 1996, Malone played briefly in Greece before retiring.

A coach in the D-League for five years from 2001-06, Malone is 22nd in NBA history with a free-throw percentage of .871.
