By Phil Watson
The Utah Jazz signed Carlos Boozer as a restricted free agent in July 2004, making an offer Boozer’s former club, the Cleveland Cavaliers, couldn’t match.
He then set about earning the money as he was a two-time All-Star and an All-NBA selection in 2007-08 for the Jazz.
.
In six seasons in Utah, Boozer averaged 19.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and a steal in 34 minutes per game, shooting .544/0-for-2/.716.
He had the highest single-season defensive rebound percentage in team history, a 29.9 percent mark in 2006-07, and has the highest career mark in that category for the Jazz at 27.7 percent.
Boozer was a second-round pick out of Duke by the Cavaliers in the 2002 NBA Draft and was an All-Rookie selection in 2002-03.
He was waived by the Bulls under the amnesty provision in July 2014 and claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Boozer, who did not play in 2015-16, will reportedly play this season in China.
