Utah Jazz: 25 Best Players To Play For The Jazz
By Phil Watson
Al Jefferson had put up some big numbers under the radar before the Utah Jazz traded Kosta Koufos and first-round picks in 2011 and 2012 to get the center from the Minnesota Timberwolves in July 2010.
Shockingly, going to Utah didn’t increase his national profile, but he was very productive for the Jazz before signing as a free agent with the Charlotte Bobcats in July 2013.
In three seasons in Utah, Jefferson averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.6 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game, shooting .494/.143/.767.
Jefferson was the 15th overall pick out of Prentiss (Miss.) High School by the Boston Celtics in the 2004 NBA Draft and was an All-Rookie selection in 2004-05.
He was traded to the Timberwolves in July 2007.
With Charlotte, Jefferson was an All-NBA selection in 2013-14 and was with the Hornets through 2015-16 before signing as a free agent with the Indiana Pacers on July 8, 2016.
