He was fifth in the league in free-throw shooting in 1977-78, as well.

In June 1981, Wedman bolted Kansas City to sign as a veteran free agent with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Kings receiving a first-round pick in 1981 as compensation.

In seven seasons with the franchise, Wedman averaged 16.5 points, six rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.7 minutes per game, shooting .487/.323/.803.

Wedman’s stint in Cleveland ended when he was traded to the Boston Celtics in January 1983, going on to win two championships in Boston.

He was later traded to the Seattle SuperSonics in October 1987, but retired after he was waived prior to the start of the season.
