When the NBA lockout ended in January 1999, the Sacramento Kings shored up the center position by signing Vlade Divac to a five-year contract.

In Sacramento, Divac earned his only All-Star Game appearance in 2001 and was part of a team that made the playoffs in all six seasons he played for the Kings.

He remained with Sacramento until returning to his first team, the

Los Angeles Lakers

, as a free agent in July 2004.

In six seasons with the Kings, Divac averaged 11.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 blocks and a steal in 30.1 minutes per game, shooting .478/.246/.676.

Drafted by the Lakers with the 26th overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft from Partizan in Serbia, Divac spent seven seasons in L.A., helping them to the 1991 NBA Finals, before he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in July 1996. After two seasons in Charlotte, he signed with Sacramento.

Divac is 46th in NBA history with 9,326 rebounds and 29th with 1,631 blocked shots.

Known for his humanitarian work in both Serbia and Africa, Divac took over as vice president of basketball and franchise operations for the Kings in March 2015.
