Draft Pick No. 2

While the Maker pick was more of a “shoot for the stars” move, taking a four-year college player like Malcolm Brogdon at No. 36 played it much safer. Coming off his senior season at Virginia, Brogdon is a proven shooter who averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game on 39.1 percent shooting from deep last year.

Though he’s not a great athlete and a bit undersized for the shooting guard position at 6’5″, Brogdon is a smart player, a skilled defender and a solid all-around player who will bolster Milwaukee’s depth in the backcourt.

In NBA Summer League, the 23-year-old Brogdon struggled a bit. Though he averaged 10.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, the rookie guard only shot 34.4 percent from the field and 3-for-18 (16.7 percent) from three-point range.

However, the Bucks may look to trade Michael Carter-Williams at some point with Antetokounmpo taking over the point guard spot. When that day comes, having a little insurance for Rashad Vaughn, Matthew Dellavedova and Tyler Ennis in the backcourt could be useful…though it’s worth noting the Bucks haven’t officially signed this second-rounder just yet.
