Odds And Ends

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Timberwolves plan to bring guards Toure’ Murry and John Lucas III to training camp.

Murry is a 6’5″ combo guard out of Wichita State who went undrafted back in 2012. Now 26 years old, Murry is still searching for his big break after bouncing back and forth between the D-League to 10-day NBA contracts. A two-time D-League champion, Murry averaged 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for Minnesota during this year’s NBA Summer League.

Lucas represents a more seasoned touch, with the 33-year-old veteran point guard struggling to find a lasting place in the league ever since his days with the Chicago Bulls back when LeBron James leapfrogged him for an alley-oop.

His most recent NBA gig came with the Detroit Pistons in 2014-15, when he averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 assists per game in 27 appearances.
