Draft Pick No. 1

With the 14th pick in the 2016 NBA draft, the Bulls selected Denzel Valentine from Michigan State University. Coming off a season in which he won Player of the year, Valentine was considered one of the most versatile players in the draft.

During his senior season, Valentine posted averages of 19.2 points, 7.8 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game. Additionally he shot a respectable 46 percent from the field overall and 44 percent from three-point range.

If there is one early concern about Valentine it is his shooting. In seven Summer League contests, he converted just 35 percent of his attempts overall and shot just 25 percent from beyond the arc, including a 3-for-10 outing in the championship game.

All in all, Valentine is a player who can be inserted at multiple positions and he has the ability to impact the game, even when isn’t making plays like this one.

That said, once his perimeter game improves, the sky will be the limit for this young man.
