Putting Together An All-Out Attack On The Perimeter Against Curry

During a regular season game last March, the Spurs showed the rest of the NBA the blueprint for how to guard Stephen Curry. They switched on EVERY screen, giving Curry limited room to get off his shots, which forced the sharpshooter into a 1-of-12 night from outside, where he finished with 14 points on 4-of-18 shooting overall.

One of the things the Spurs did well was to keep making changes in terms of who was guarding Curry so he could never get comfortable. Danny Green played particularly exceptional D on the speedy guard, including coming up with a timely rejection near the rim.

Even LaMarcus Aldridge did a fantastic job keeping pace with Curry, keeping his hands up from the outside, and forcing him into areas of the floor where the help defense was ready to pounce on him.

In order for the Spurs to beat the Warriors in four out of seven games, they will need to mirror the defense they played in this game and make life as difficult as possible for Curry.
