Honorable Mention: Running The Pick & Roll

Throughout his Orlando Magic career, Dwight Howard was the most feared pick-and-roll dive man in the NBA. Amar’e Stoudemire may have something to say about that, but the point remains that Howard could score at will through the pick-and-roll.

Now a member of the Atlanta Hawks, it stands to reason that Howard will be utilized in a way that caters to his strengths.

Dennis Schroder will get his chance to start at point guard for the Hawks in 2016-17. He’s not yet consistent with his pocket passes to the dive man, but has shown enough to suggest the pick-and-roll can become the foundation for he and Howard’s success.

Furthermore, Schroder is a quick and elusive slasher who can come off of screens and occasionally rise up for jump shots, thus creating wider lanes for Howard to exploit.

If Howard is willing to get back to the play that works for him, then Schroder can help him revitalize his career. If Howard continues to dismiss the play, however, his ceiling will be capped in Atlanta.

The question is, will Howard actually embrace the play that has helped make him the future Hall of Famer that he is?
