Let’s get the most obvious one out of the way. One of the Golden State Warriors’ stars may fall out of the All-Star Game in 2017, but the likelihood that it’s Kevin Durant is so slim that it’s not even worth entertaining that possibility.

Durant’s list of accolades outweigh those of many players in the Hall of Fame, and that’s reason enough to believe the 2017 All-Star Game will not elude him.

Whether you love him, hate him, or feel indifferent, one can’t deny that Durant is one of the greatest players in NBA history. He’s already won an MVP award, four scoring titles, and earned five All-NBA First Team selections.

The list of players who have achieved that combination of accolades or better: Durant, Wilt Chamberlain, and Michael Jordan.

Furthermore, Durant is already a seven-time All-Star who even made the team when he was injured in 2014-15. Some fans may not like him, but it’s hard to imagine Durant not being voted into the starting lineup for the Western Conference All-Stars.

If the fans revolt and snub Durant from the starting lineup, then you can bet your mortgage that a healthy KD would be voted in by the coaches.
