Tim Duncan: 10 Greatest Postseason Moments
May 2, 2005: Spurs at Denver Nuggets
(Western Conference First Round, Game 4)
After dropping the first game of the series at home, the Spurs bounced back with consecutive victories in the next two games and were seeking to take a 3-1 lead.
This wasn’t an easy task, however, as the Nuggets overcame a 12-point deficit in the third quarter and sent the game into overtime thanks to a baseline jumper by Carmelo Anthony.
In the overtime session, though, the Nuggets simply ran out of gas, as the Spurs opened the period with a 6-0 burst en route to a 19-8 scoring edge.
When it was all said and done, the Spurs had notched their third straight victory and eventually closed out the Nuggets in five games. Duncan scored 39 points — his highest point total of that postseason and pulled down 14 rebounds.
For the series, Duncan averaged 22.0 points, 11.2 boards and 2.6 blocks.
