3. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers have been actively pursuing a trade for Rudy Gay. The unfortunate reality is that, as previously alluded to in Ailene Voisins’ report, the Sacramento Kings aren’t interested in receiving Monta Ellis as the return in a trade.

If the Indiana can round out what’s already been a brilliant offseason by pairing Gay with Paul George, however, it would solidify its place as a Conference Finals favorite.

Along with Draymond Green and Kawhi Leonard, George is one of the Top 3 defensive players in the NBA. He’s already made three appearances on the All-NBA, All-Defensive, and All-Star teams, and he’s only 26.

It was recently reported that the Kings and Pacers have entered discussions on this trade possibility.

That’d be one heck of a get for the Pacers.

George is a dynamic offensive player, and his supporting cast of Jeff Teague, Myles Turner, and Thaddeus Young will alleviate pressure. All three are capable of scoring, but adding Gay would give Indiana a true and established No. 2 scoring threat.

Indiana is reluctant to give up Rodney Stuckey instead of Ellis, but if Larry Bird can work his trade magic, Gay and George would be one heck of a duo under Nate McMillan.
