Dallas Mavericks squad

The Mavs may be striking out in free agency, but their Summer League team is looking solid.

Former Marquette standout Vander Blue is a starter for the Dallas squad this summer. He spent most of the past two years in the D-League, with call-up stints to the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Lakers.

He played with the Chicago Bulls squad in the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League.

Blue is putting up a solid performance in Orlando as he hopes to secure a more lasting roster spot during training camp in September. His squad fell to the Thunder squad on a buzzer beater by Cameron Payne but up until then, it had been a close contest.

Expect the Mavs to finish in a decent position within the Summer League by Friday before they move on to Las Vegas.

The Mavs play the Magic’s White squad on Independence Day, so there’s that. Check it out if you can pull yourself away from the barbecue.
