5 Roster Moves The Atlanta Hawks Need To Make
3. Sign Lance Stephenson
I think that Lance Stephenson is a better small forward than he is a shooting guard.
Since he moved to that position for the Memphis Grizzlies, his scoring average was a career high 14.2 points per game. Stephenson started to rebound above his career rebounding rate again (4.2) with 4,4 per game for Memphis.
Stephenson even came close to his career assist average (3.0) with 2.8 per game for Memphis.
More from Atlanta Hawks

Why is all this important, Stephenson found a system that worked for him and both Stephenson and Memphis benefited as a result. I think in Atlanta, Stephenson could play off Paul Millsap and would be even better again.
This would help solve the small forward issue since DeMarre Carroll left last summer. Atlanta tried Kent Bazemore in the position without the success that Carroll had at the position.
Atlanta will face some stiff competition from Memphis, the Orlando Magic and other teams to sign the combination shooting guard/small forward but I think that whatever price they pay, Stephenson will respond in their system and be a success.
If Atlanta cannot sign Stephenson, they already have a hedge by getting Bazemore back on a long-term deal.
