Honorable Mention: Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have officially invested the future of the organization in Bradley Beal and John Wall. Wall is already a borderline superstar at point guard, while Beal is a proven postseason performer at the 2.

Marcin Gortat is a steady and consistent player at the 5, but Washington should give serious consideration to trading for Nikola Vucevic.

The one and only reason Washington is an honorable mention instead of a Top 5 team is the absence of tradable assets. The Orlando Magic are already flush with young talent, and the only true question marks are found at the 2 and 3.

Otto Porter Jr. could make sense for the Magic, but Aaron Gordon has a higher ceiling that Frank Vogel is likely to want to explore.

If Washington were to pull something off, it’d send the organization right back into the postseason. Wall and a healthy Beal form a Top 5 backcourt, and while Gortat is invaluably consistent, Vucevic would provide the missing element offensively.

Vucevic is a borderline All-Star who appears to be the right facilitator away from being a nightly 20-and-10 player. Wall can be that facilitator.
