2. May 8, 2015: Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (Game 3 of Eastern Conference Semifinals)

The Bulls do not have a great track record in playoff competition when facing LeBron James. In fact, the four-time MVP had a hand in eliminating Chicago from the postseason in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Despite such a glaring trend, the Bulls felt confident about their chances this time around. That confidence was emboldened by the fact that they were facing a short-handed Cavaliers team that was without Kevin Love and a hobbled Kyrie Irving.

On the game’s final possession, the teams were tied at 96, and the Bulls were looking to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Thanks to the city’s native son, they were able to do exactly that.

Rose didn’t have a super-efficient game, connecting on 10 of his 26 attempts. However, he did have a solid all-around performance with a game-high 30 points (14 in the fourth quarter), seven rebounds and seven assists.

Unfortunately for Rose and the Bulls, this would prove to be the highlight of the series, as the Cavaliers won the next three games, and Chicago would see its season come to an end at the hands of a James-led squad for the fourth time in six years.
