5 Roster Moves The Brooklyn Nets Need To Make
3. Sign Kent Bazemore
UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Atlanta Hawks have agreed to re-sign Kent Bazemore to a four-year, $70 million deal. Moving on.
While I would love to say “Sign Harrison Barnes” here, why would he leave the Warriors to come to Brooklyn? He will be a sought after free agent and will want to make money while winning.
With Atlanta potentially looking elsewhere and trying to keep Al Horford, Bazemore will be trying to find the best pay day that he can. Even if Brooklyn lands a couple of big paying free agents they will still have more room in their cap for Bazemore than most of the league.
If Bazemore were to sign with Brooklyn, Bojan Bogdanovic could go back to the bench, playing the sixth man role for both the shooting guard and small forward role. That is, if Brooklyn can sign a quality shooting guard.
This would give Brooklyn greater flexibility and some potent offense off the bench.
If Brooklyn can’t sign a high quality shooting guard then Bogdanovic would start there, weakening the bench but my guess is that Brooklyn will probably play a shorter rotation than most next year in an effort to win more games.
