5 Teams That Should Consider Jarrett Jack
By Gary Gorski
Philadelphia 76ers
There’s suddenly a great deal of hope and optimism in the city of brotherly love. No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons joins the Sixers’ very young core, which also hopes to see the debuts of Joel Embiid and Dario Saric this season. Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor aren’t exactly grizzled vets either.
While Philly has plenty of youth and frontcourt talent, the backcourt leaves something to be desired. Ish Smith played well but has agreed to a three-year contract with the Pistons, leaving a huge hole at the point.

Philly will need to spend a significant amount of money to hit the salary floor and as mentioned earlier, the Sixers are a team that could just outright claim Jack and since they owned the worst record, they could beat everyone to the punch.
Jack would not only be capable of playing significant minutes or possibly even starting for the Sixers, but he would bring some much needed veteran experience and leadership. For the past few seasons Philly has been a sideshow as “The Process” played out.
But the nonstop roster turnover and asset collection has finally resulted in tangible, talented players that a franchise could be built upon, and a steady, veteran hand at the point guard spot and in the locker room could be a key point in the turnaround of the franchise.
One possible caveat: According to Jon Krawczynski of the Associate Press, the Sixers have signed Jerryd Bayless to a three-year, $27 million deal.
