NBA Free Agency: Best Landing Spots For Andrew Nicholson
By Justin Rowan
5. Cleveland Cavaliers
If Nicholson desires a situation where he may not get a ton of minutes, but would be put into a position to excel and showcase his abilities, the Cleveland Cavaliers may be one of the best options for him.
While the Cavs can only offer him around $3.5 million a year, they could use another stretch 4 with some size to back up Kevin Love.
The likely departure of Timofey Mozgov will have both Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye playing primarily at centers next season and the Cavs found success in the playoffs playing with at least four floor spacers at all times.
Nicholson and Thompson have played together almost every summer with the Canadian national team for years and are close, which could give the Cavs an edge, seeing as they cannot offer a lot of money.

Having success as a role player on a successful team helps elevate the profile of any player. While Nicholson may not make as much money on Cleveland, after toiling away on the Magic for years it could be the opportunity he needs to raise his profile and seek a larger pay day in a year or two.
