1. Sign Al Jefferson

Al Jefferson had some injuries and issues last year that led to him missing quite a number of games for the Charlotte Hornets. When he came back, Cody Zeller was firmly entrenched in the starting line up and Jefferson was forced to come off the bench.

I will say that he did this with such grace that I saw no negative reports about the man because of this. I will also say that Jefferson is way too good a player to be starting a game anywhere but on the court.

Chicago is now in need of a center, Gasol is gone, Joakim Noah is potentially gone and even Cameron Bairstow has been traded away.

Yes, Chicago did pick up Robin Lopez and while I love his style of play, would you rather not have Al Jefferson manning the pivot?

In his 47 games last year, Jefferson averaged only 23.3 minutes, 12.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.

If he were to start for the Chicago Bulls, he would probably go back closer to his career stats of 30.6 minutes, 16.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest.

With their current salary cap position, Chicago would be able to offer the 31-year-old his final long-term contract, giving them a good building block for the future.
