While the
are certainly far from the poster boys for organizational stability, they are a team with limited options to improve their championship team and are in the market for more depth on the perimeter.
The Cavs have had success recently providing structure and stabilizing J.R. Smith to the point where he was a meaningful contributor on a championship team.
Granted, Smith had a relationship with LeBron James and his issues were more about not taking his career seriously rather than being a locker room problem.
While putting Smith and Stephenson in the same locker room might be a little too much for the Cavs to stomach, it’s an option that they should at least give some consideration to.
The defense, scoring and playmaking that Stephenson can bring when he’s playing at his best would help bolster the Cavs rotation, especially when they decide to play small ball.
